This morning, sorrow pulled me down before the day even began. A message from a dear friend arrived, heavy and heart-wrenching. Her only grandchild, just thirteen, had passed away. My knees buckled under the weight of her grief … and mine. Without thinking, I walked to the pantry for comfort—looking for something sweet to dull the bitter ache. The chocolate covered blueberries I’d purchased a few days ago from Costco would help. Or my favorite dark chocolate coconut bars. Mom
